Leisure tourism in Ukraine
Travel is one of the most commonly listed interests of people, and it comes in all forms. Some people travel only when they need to visit relatives or friends, others travel on business, and some travel as a sort of spiritual discipline, to discover new things about the world and its cultures and to learn more about themselves in the crucible that is travel. Yet for some, none of these things is that important: to these people, travel is about fun and excitement, about rest and relaxation, and about whatever they want it to be about.
Mountaineering
Mountaineering, or alpinism, is the set of outdoor activities that involves ascending tall mountains. Mountaineering-related activities include traditional outdoor climbing, skiing and traversing via ferratas. Indoor climbing, sport climbing and bouldering are also considered variants of mountaineering by some.
Our Carpathians are relatively low mountains, they have only 7 peaks with hight above 2000 m: Hoverla (2061 m), Brebeneskul (2032 m), Pip Ivan (2028 m), Petros (2020 m), Gutin Tomnatyk (2017 m), Rebra (2001m), and Menchul (1998 m) – which lacks just 2 meters to the two-thousand mark. Therefore, they can be won not only by experienced climbers but also by schoolchildren.
Skiing
In the list of the best ski resorts in Ukraine, the ski resort Bukovel is top with 3.4 out of 5 stars. The largest ski resortsoffer up to 68 kilometres of slopes (Bukovel). The hughest ski resorts for skiing in Ukraine extend up to an altitude of 1,703 metres.
